Our logo on television, 17 years later!

Parker | Scheer on 24

I was finally catching up on the last season of 24 on Netflix and lo and behold! Our logo for Parker | Scheer LLP was the backdrop for an amazing chase scene with Kiefer Sutherland in New York City! I immediately grabbed the remote, paused, hit rewind and shouted "kor group designed that logo!" I couldn't believe that the logo we designed seventeen years ago was on television

Summertime Cocktails

cocktails, cocktails, cocktails!

One of my hobbies both in and out of the office is mixing up new and delicious cocktails – I’m always experimenting with new ideas and combinations and the kor groupies are always eager to be my taste-testers. When the sound of crushed ice hitting the martini shaker radiates through the office, it’s not long before there’s a crowd gathering around the kitchen bar.

Use your common sense to make the most of your Summer!

summer, summer, summertime….

A number of Boston companies, including kor group, provide their employees with "summer hours", letting us leave on Fridays to get the weekend started a little early. We can get a head start if we're traveling (maybe miss a *little* traffic?), or just relax and enjoy the nice weather (likely with summer cocktail in hand).

Note to self - always remember this!

Source: The Eames Office - www.eamesoffice.com

As I was doing a spot of spring cleaning this past weekend, I happened across my student portfolio. On top of the case lay a small business card-size piece of paper with a hand scribbled note on it. I had written this note to myself in the early hours of some morning as I was in the throws of final portfolio comping. It simply states "Always remember this!" and is followed by my favorite quote about design.

Otto: An Epic Story (VIDEO)

Last week, kor group had a special guest. He belongs to our project manager, Catherine. His name is Otto, and he’s kind of famous around here. We’ve been begging Cat to bring him in for a day because he's so darn cute, and after convincing him to be on his best behavior, she finally agreed.

Making Mommy Proud

Grace and MB making their donations to Cradles to Crayons

When my 6 year old said she didn't want her friends to give her a birthday present for her 7th birthday soiree, I immediately reached for the thermometer. “Mom, I have too many toys and I really don't need any more.” Forget the the thermometer, I thought I better call her pediatrician!

For our annual retreat this year, we took to the streets of Boston for a scavenger hunt. We fueled up on bagels and fruit bright and early and picked 3 teams; each led by a partner. Once the teams were picked, we put on our “kor groupie” t-shirts & the rules were reviewed – each team was given a budget of $40, walking or public transportation was the only option for getting around, all team members must stay together at all times and each team had to find as many items on the scavenger hunt list in 4 hours. The team with the most points wins.

kor holiday mailing 2010

“What are we going to do for our holiday mailing this year?” After 17 years we’ve run the gamut of holiday gifts for our clients; gift tags, wine bags, greeting cards, kor postage stamps, wrapping paper, you name it, we have done it and they have loved it. Then we got an idea; This year we’d swing open our holiday vault and give the “gift of choice”. This allowed our clients to self select a gift they wish to receive and kor group can lower our impact on the environment by distributing products we already had on hand.
