It has been an invaluable learning experience to collaborate on the transition to a new president. Researching, hiring and working with consultants, talking with and listening to the concerns of the faculty, student and alumni community in town meetings and one-on-ones, has yielded a wonderful outcome – Sue Gorman – a compassionate leader. Having had the chance to be a part of this experience from the inside and the outside has given me a deeper understanding of the process. An understanding which may not be attainable in any other way. It was an incredible reminder that there is not one "right way" to the path of success but listening to a community is vital in getting there.
