"I can't believe we finally made it," he says looking back on the stressful, complex and tiring few minutes that changed his life.

The move had been in the works for literally days before the epic process of packing a couple of boxes and moving a phone began. Over a period of 10-15 seconds, which seemed like hours, Matt Rogers hauled his belongings across a treacherous section of the kor group office; circumnavigating the valley between the desks of designer Amy LeBow and writer Dave Demerjian. "It was a little hairy there for a minute, I thought my banana might not make it," he recalled. Upon arrival, he was greeted by his new neighbor, Associate Jim Gibson. "It's been nearly 3 years since I had a close neighbor..." commented a wary Mr. Gibson.

The change of scenery is a welcome one for Matt; his new desk has a great view of the parking lot, and even has a shelf - something he's always wanted! "To know there's sunshine outside, to see the planes landing at Logan, and to be greeted by the smiling face of Mr. Jim Gibson is a daily blessing" said Matt, "It's like I'm seeing the world for the first time with new eyes."

Watching from the sidelines of his own desk, wide-eyed designer Doug Rickert exclaimed "It's unbelievable, just to see the resources put behind this momentous effort. I can only liken it to NASA's moon-mission in 1969." Although his excitement isn't without a tinge of sadness "I am sorry to see him go..." he whispered to himself.

When you launch a new brand, you are announcing to the public a new and improved version of who you are. It's a pretty big deal. It's also a time to get the rest of the company behind the new look and feel and generate some internal excitement.
Suburban Companies came to kor group needing a new name, a new brand and a new website. It wasn't long before Suburban Integrated Facilities Resources was born; and what better way to launch a new brand and website than with a party? kor designed Suburban's internal and external brand launch mailing and e-blast. With our suggestions, they took it a step further with branded m&m's candy, cupcakes, water bottles and even balloons. Kudos to the entire Suburban team for a successful & fun launch party! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of such an exciting celebration - we had a blast!

Luckily, his sister Karen Dendy Smith, partner at kor group, knew exactly how to help. kor group named, created a logo, signage, t-shirts and all the swag Eric needed for a successful studio.

Ten years later, LIFT is a thriving studio with a team approach, low key atmosphere and customized programs. The next step was to create a website that conveys all that LIFT has to offer. kor group worked with Eric to create a modern, user-friendly website that allows potential clients to get all the information they need to begin their fitness regimen.

The result is a responsive website that is optimized for tablets and smartphones. Instead of designing for many devices with different resolutions, responsive was the way to go. The design adjusts depending which device the user is on. Check out the brand new Lift Of Lake Mary website on your desktop, laptop, tablet and smart phone!

The Getty Center was completed in 1997 after 14 years of construction. It was built with the huge endowment from Jean Paul Getty, who built his fortune through the accumulation of oil companies. The complex sits above the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains in the Brentwood district of Los Angeles. The buildings were designed in a contemporary, modernist style by American architect Richard Meier.

The show that was most intrigiung to me was the Photographs of Ray K. Metzker and the Institute of Design. Metzker’s black and white photographs are beautifully composed. The high contrast images are bold and striking. I especially liked the very graphic photographs that display multiple and composite images. It brought me back to my time at MassArt and the fun, creative experiments we conducted in the dark room.

It was an inspiring talk focused on the concept of conscious capitalism.
The foundation of this business model contends that business is inherently good and
that free enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for lifting up humanity.

Sure, there are business leaders who are greedy and power-hungry, but there are also
leaders who are motivated by mission, purpose, and the desire to create value.
(They call it servant leadership.)
These companies that create cultures built on love, collaboration, support, shared values, and social responsibility not only reach their goals, but outperform other companies who don’t foster these environments. Culture trumps strategy!

It’s up to us as entrepreneurs to change the narrative about business.
Mr. Mackey urged us as business leaders to find a higher purpose in our businesses —
to look at our businesses as catalysts toward positive, societal change.
